MR. Congo climate meeting to make demands on richer nations

Environment ministers from dozens of countries are to gather in the Democratic Republic of Congo for tackling climate change in the region.

The 3-day meeting in Kinshasa is part of preparations for a summit in Egypt - Cop 27 - next month.

The Kinshasa talks are expected to focus on calls for richer governments to do more for helping less developed countries combat global warming.

The Congolese hosts are likely to appeal for funding to help protect their country's rainforest, which is the second biggest in the world.
